Every enemy within I have built, constructed
And any particle of pain, it is mine
No indemnity, no quarter, no mercy instructed
The very hardening of hate over time

Every enemy within I have made, created
And every article within the abyss
Every mirror I have seen I have cursed, berated
And any move is just a shot and a miss

Only visceral regret and remorse remaining
A quantum warning to myself in the past
Lonely isolated prison inside containing
The wanton destruction of first to the last

Only miserable intent will leave me devoured
A wanting of a time that never can be
Own the future and the past is reduced to hours
Of a memory and now I am free

Still the sun and the stars
shine on rubble here below
Through the doubt and the dark
and the awful undertow
And though the emptiness pulls your hand away from mine
I know the heaviness will leave again
