A Flock Named Murder - Without Passage

These dark sullen eyes peer through the gateway
And reveal life's internal virtue
Now as we wander solemnly
An absence of life will flood the abyss

Corruption to ensure purity
Shadows conceal many secrets
A building anxiety shattering tranquility
Ignorant of it's origins a mind spinning relentlessly

Flames stoked to consume atrocities that blind wisdom
Innocence carried away in the darkness of temptation's wings
Images of life crash upon shores of memory
Dormant logic imbalanced somewhere in time

And so it came to pass
The wickedness of man
Our burdens to the earth
An oath of reckless burn

They resurrect to devour the convulsing scraps of the masses
The ceaseless hand of the universe aligns with the dreaded insanity

Bear witness to what is, what was, what can never be

The icy grip that entraps virtue
Retribution a deluded fantasy
A sanctuary devoid of reason
Whispering silence…
