Abandoned by Light - In the Graveyard of Roots and Trees

Drifting through the skies
Watching the world below
A hollow corpse shell
Where once life dwelt

Landing beneath a canopy
Of blood, ash and dying leaves
I imagine a world in bloom
And curse the wretched life I lead

Little remains of what once was
Shallow reminders of days long past
A world I never got to witness
Images and sounds now extinct

Despair plunges its blade once more
The dark and cold encircling my soul
Falling in this graveyard of blood and trees
Holding myself tight I lay and die

Time never stops, though nothing passes
Nothing left to see the seasons change
Or watch the ebb and flow of the waters
Only my eyes see the pointless passing moments
