Battlesoul - Sunward and Starward

Sleep evades me,
A cavernous blackness,
Approaches me in my dreams,
Invasive as the high tide fog,

Immersing all in liquid most foul,

I wretch, the poison from me, only to be
Submerged once again,
A process that repeats over and over,
Until I wake,

Hel spit up this unholy sow's filth,
Bade us drink deeply, and wholly,
I turn Sunward and Starward,
For a path of escape,

One star, (Silent)
Unlike all, (Bewildered)
Has shone, (Reflecting)
More bright, (Expecting)
As though, (A Vision)
In Answer, (A Moment)
To my, (That Explains)
Appeal, (My Life Work)
I will,
Do my,
Utmost,
To reach,
To touch,
This brightest of lights,

Light of the Northern Star,
Light of the Northern Sun,
I pledge my everything,
See this blight undone,
I walk the path of white light,
And hold at bay all those who stray,

The black blood expelled,
I've lifted the spell,
Why don't the others,
Seek to be free,
I don't understand,
Why do they not,
Envy me?

Tendrils of the world tree,
Rising from Hel,
Twisted as they seem,
Though it was meant to be,
This is not lost on me,
Judgment indeed,
I look on,
Under the light of the star,

It has spared me,
Reckoning,
Benediction,
Unforeseen,
Wretched fools,
Awash in their own blood,
A sight I thought I'd never see,

These stars and suns see fit to clean the earth of the pain,
Wrought by the delusions of charismatic men,
The disease spreading from the unknown East,
Borne in silks and riches,
Bearing gold and forgiveness,
To torture me,
