Beyond Our Eyes - Tormented

I try to follow the stars,
But they always lead me further into the dark.
Have my efforts gone to waste?

I tend to follow my heart
But it always puts me back to the start.
Will I ever know what it means to belong?

These questions play like a broken record in my head.
Never knowing what it's like to have all the answers.
It's times like these that I'd rather be dead.
Cut the ties that bind and learn peace.

Is this how the story ends, or how it begins?
Uncertainty is my biggest foe; I won't rest until I know.
I will live the life I choose; I can't go on with nothing to lose.

I don't deserve this.

All the days gone by, and I have yet to find you.
Running in the circle of life; such a waste of time,
With no one to call my own (with no one like you).
