Please, don't cry for me, it had to be this way

But no longer can I bear these heavy chains

Yes, I understand, our laws are a necessity
Without guidance we all could get out of hand
There's no reason for the government to do your job
Restricting freedom only eases their shallowed minds

When I lay down to die, nevermore to be
In their shackles of life

From the moment that we could understand, we were told that we have the opportunity to be anything we want in life. As we mature into adults, we find, that it was all a fabrication. We have the opportunity to be whatever we want as long as it can be approved by our government and our peers. If for some reason what we become isn't respectable in their eyes, we become the target of government control through censorship and amendments of our freedoms. It was these manipulating plots that have brought me to the conclusion....Life will never be worth living, if we are not allowed to live.

Like those before me, I have found an escape
I will not be trampled in their quests for power
Maybe my death will open their eyes
So the youth that follow me can finally live free

They will lay down their head, locking themselves
In their shackles of life

Constricting our rights for political power
For self-satisfaction our lives they devour
Refusing to let them have total control
I leave only my shell, they won't get my soul

Take a good look at what they have done to our youth
Pointing their fingers to others to cover the truth
It's not the movies or the music that we listen to
The answers you're needing are hidden deep inside of you

It's people like Tipper who think they need to play God
Naive to it all, they don't see the problem is them
