into a hidden valley walks
a thoughtful man not knowing
he’s the first to stir it’s dust
that he’s reached the place
he once set out to find
too worried to even glance
at the landscape before him

out of the all-engulfing gloom
rises a massive shape in awe now
he beholds the tower of the world

within the ancient walls of a fortress
older than time on this sacred ground

one single lit window fills him with hope open swing the doors he steps inside even thicker blackness throws its arms around him blindly he begins his ascent

a hundred eyes staring at me invisible hands tearing at my soul high above a beckoning light one false step an infinite fall dwindling strength crippling fear between me and my uncertain goal
