Resist that overwhelming urge
To lie, in your bed, and give up all you've earned

This misanthropy that's consuming me

Once bitterly built to please,
I watched the world turn it's back on me

To see what else that life could take

It's been so long, since I realized where I am
I stood, and embraced my first descent,
My inner demons, my only fatal foe,
This apathy lies in the wounds made long ago

I know you can see, the storm within me

I stand my ground now, I have to hold out.
The fortunes I see are too shrouded in doubt.
And all severed ties, that I left behind,
