I've read books about lives I wish I lived
I've written poems about the people I wish I never loved
But I've found nothing new

Just the same old, same old tried and true
Your pale soft skin blessed and unused
Wrapped and loved with my ownbruised
Kissed on my wrists knowing you're better than this

It's the same old, same old blues
You gave up on me but I never gave up on you
Left the marks on my lips
They were cracked with winters kiss.
