The biting winter air lingers outside
It's late at night and I can hear them joyful and full of life.
Disposable, predictable and safe
Instead I lock myself inside this place beyond my age

Like the back of my hand
I know the feeling all too well
My mind is a cloud above my shoulders
But my body's forgetting to breathe
Believe, that I can find reprieve
A stay of execution by my own hands

The autumn leaves predict the winter's freeze
These brittle bones prefer to be left beside myself
The rains of spring return to summer's heat
But I'll stay inside and wonder why I still feel the cold

The panoramic view of the skyline is killing me
It reminds me of the sprawling failures I've conceived
