Revelation Project - Martyrs

Complete darkness yields to an emerging radiance
A glow so brilliant the sun becomes as a shadow.
Slowly clarity enters my vision
And reveals a glorious view almost beyond human comprehension.

An endless expanse
A city made completely of gold and crystal and every precious gem.
And a countless multitude of souls
From every nation and tribe and people and language, [Revelation 7:9]
All martyred for their unfaltering faith in the one true God. [Revelation 7:14]
I join in their prayer, crying out in a loud voice,
In holy desire for vengeance against evil and longing for Christ to finally rule on earth,
“How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true,
Until You judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?” [Revelation 6:10]

Then God, the creator and master of all the universe, descends from His throne.
To every martyr He gives a white robe, [Revelation 6:11]
A symbol of His gift of eternal righteousness to us.

And with soft words He comforts us.
He tells us to rest just a little while longer
While the number of us has not yet been fulfilled. [Revelation 6:11]
But surely after this will come judgment.
