It was autumn
When we first passed down
And the rains fell cold
Above a coastal town

We were closer
When I wrote this down
You had paced the floor
We'd mapped it out

Was it sun that you noticed?
It was sun, we should notice
Autumn

I, I didn't know this all enough to say I was
Colder
Colder now

We were up at dawn
And we moved all night
You were all my home
You were all my light
When the tide moves out
Will it keep us up at night?
Sun sinks and divides

Was it autumn
When we first drove down?
As the light retrеats
Into a pattern now

In the currents
As I wrotе this out
Where the sea sank low
Where it met the ground

Was it sun that you noticed?
Did you get what you wanted, Autumn?
