Part 1: Light

Raising my arms towards the birthing sun
Dragged away from the shadowy realms
To bask into the dawning glow around
A world unknown to those once blind

Trees release an emerald glow outward
That falls upon our faces made glistening
Turned into jewels under the suns gaze
Standing in the light, warmth returning

Where I once stood, such joy did not exist
Here amongst the world of living souls
Where I followed your glow through night
The shadows have retreated once more

Part 2: Dark

Your tears fall as rain, nourishing
Falling on my face as I rise to see
From the bottom of this pit I stare
Your eyes glisten as crystal under the moon

Turning away from your gaze
Towards the ensnaring shadows
And the pull of the pale starlight
Illuminating my decaying realm of despair

Nightmares begin shaping reality
And the light grows fainter
Here I stand betwixt light and dark
Pulled one way, and then the other

And here I stand betwixt light and dark
Bewitched by the blackness surrounding
But dragged towards light by glistening souls
Before falling once more into the beneath
